Wonderful evening today~ meet up with coach Zhang and his wife today. Haven’t seen them for nearly 6 years. Feel good to see them again, looking good and fit as usual. Coach was in Malaysia for a holiday and witness Malaysia swimming opens. Truly a wonderful couple and a well learned man. His Chinese way of thoughts is really interesting and fun to talks to.
It is always those talking and drinking session with the coach, I learned a lot of fine Chinese language and beautiful phrased Chinese proverb giving depth to scenario events.
Coach was previously a head of an elite government sports complex in Beijing; due to work stress and tonnes of entertainment, he decides to stop and come Malaysia to rest.
During his break from China, he taught swimming lessons at a local club.
During his time in Malaysia, my dad would always accompany the coach around looking for foods and drinks. It is in those sessions that I’ve joined and get to know the coach better. I know both the coach and his wife were national Olympic swimming champion and diver in their heydays. Among the thing that amazes me are his modesty, his strict living lifestyles and his humbleness.
Coach made a lot friends here but this trip back to Malaysia, he specifically informed and invite only a few friends of his presents because everyone will come and meet him; then he would have time to really enjoys his holiday. Good to see you Coach!!
