My maternal grandfather passed away today. Although I do not know him very well nor he was every kid’s dream of a grandfather figure. As I can recall he never treated me bad; a typical Chinese grandfather I supposed. Wish I could know him better but other than occasional yearly gathering. Celebrations and smoking joint session, I never really had the chance to connect to him.
He was the only grandfather I knew off since my paternal grandfather passes away a long time before I was born.The one thing I know of him is he is responsible for the old wooden Connaught Bridge a long time ago. The bridge has since been replaced by a concrete ones bridging across Klang River. That was his legacy.
I always felt that regardless of what one’s deed was, upon his dead all should be forgiven and pass. May his soul rest in peace.
